Frank Onyeka is set to make his first appearance for Coventry City F.C. in Monday’s clash, manager Frank Lampard has confirmed, ending uncertainty over the midfielder’s availability.
Onyeka, who joined Coventry City on loan on the final day of the winter transfer window, was not included in the squad for midweek action, prompting questions about when he would make his debut.
Lampard’s announcement assures fans that the Nigerian international is ready to contribute, either from the starting XI or off the bench.
“Frank is ready to go,” Lampard said, emphasising the midfielder’s preparedness to integrate into the team. “He has trained well since arriving and is in good shape to help us in Monday’s match.”
The 24-year-old, who has previously impressed in the English Premier League with his technical ability and tactical awareness, is expected to provide reinforcement in the centre of the park.
Lampard indicated that Onyeka’s inclusion will give Coventry City additional options in controlling possession and linking play between defence and attack.
Coventry City, currently focused on securing key points in the EFL Championship, view Onyeka’s arrival as a timely boost for their midfield.
Lampard added that integrating new players quickly is essential for the club’s push in the second half of the season.
Whether Onyeka starts or comes on as a substitute, his debut marks a significant moment for both the player and the club.
Supporters will be keen to see how he adapts to his new environment and contributes to Coventry City’s push for a strong finish this season.
