Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly has committed his future to Saudi Pro League giants, Al Hilal by signing a new contract.
The former Chelsea and Napoli defender signed a contract that will keep him at Al Hilal until June 30, 2027.
The decision underlines both the player’s importance to the squad and the club’s desire for continuity at the back as they continue to compete on multiple fronts.
Since arriving from Europe in the summer of 2023, Koulibaly has quickly established himself as a defensive leader. The 34-year-old adapted seamlessly to life in the Saudi Pro League and soon became a cornerstone of the team, first under former head coach Jorge Jesus and later under Simone Inzaghi.
His authority, positional awareness and wealth of experience have brought stability to Al Hilal’s defence, while his leadership off the pitch has also been widely praised.
Koulibaly’s influence has been evident again this season, as he has featured in 17 matches across competitions for the Riyadh-based club. Beyond his defensive duties, he has also contributed going forward, finding the net once in the AFC Champions League during Al Hilal’s clash with Qatari side Al Sadd.
With this extension, Al Hilal secure the services of one of their most dependable performers for the next two seasons, reinforcing their ambition to remain a dominant force domestically and a serious contender on the continental stage. For Koulibaly, the new deal reflects the trust placed in him by the club and confirms that his journey in Saudi Arabia is far from over.
