The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will hold its Executive Committee meeting this Friday in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and key rule reforms on the agenda.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe will lead the session, which brings together Executive Committee members to address critical organisational and operational matters.

A press conference is expected to follow at the Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam, with live coverage on CAF TV.

The meeting will focus heavily on preparations for the 2027 AFCON, set to be hosted jointly by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Officials aim to highlight improvements in tournament management and stadium infrastructure across East Africa.

In addition to tournament planning, the committee will review CAF’s disciplinary code and governance framework.

This move comes in the wake of the controversial 2025 AFCON final in Morocco, which prompted calls for stricter penalties to protect African football’s integrity.

Motsepe has emphasised enhancing officiating standards, ensuring referees and VAR operators maintain consistency and impartiality.

The rule review is central to his broader effort to elevate African football’s profile and competitiveness on the world stage.
