Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku delivered another stunning goal on Tuesday night, but it proved insufficient as Leicester City collapsed from a commanding position to suffer a dramatic 4-3 defeat to Southampton in the English Championship.

The lively winger was handed a starting role for the Foxes in their Round 32 encounter against the Saints at the King Power Stadium and was at the heart of Leicester’s early dominance.

Leicester City wasted no time asserting control, opening the scoring just 10 minutes into the first half when Divine Mukasa finished clinically after being teed up by Patson Daka. The pressure continued, and only three minutes later, Daka turned scorer himself to double the home side’s advantage and put Southampton firmly on the back foot.

The Foxes appeared unstoppable, and their dominance was capped in the 29th minute by a moment of individual brilliance from Issahaku. Collecting the ball on the edge of the Southampton penalty area, the Ghanaian teased his defender with close control before unleashing a ferocious strike that flew beyond the goalkeeper to make it 3-0.

With Leicester heading into the break holding a comfortable three-goal cushion, all signs pointed towards a convincing home victory. However, the second half produced a stunning twist that left the King Power Stadium in disbelief.

Southampton emerged from the interval with renewed determination and mounted an extraordinary comeback. Goals from Ross Stewart, Jack Stephens, Ryan Manning, and Shea Charles completed the turnaround, sealing all three points for the visitors in what will be remembered as one of the most remarkable comebacks in Championship history.

Despite the painful defeat, Issahaku’s goal continued his impressive season in England. The Black Stars winger now boasts eight goals and seven assists from 32 appearances in the EFL Championship, underlining his growing influence and attacking threat for Leicester City.
