Legendary Italian coach Fabio Capello has lauded Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, calling him an exceptional talent, while also noting the forward’s current working relationship with Liverpool manager Arne Slot.
Salah had clashed with Slot earlier this season, following a string of matches on the bench.
The tension appeared to ease once the Egyptian star returned to Liverpool’s starting lineup.
Speaking to ON Sport, Capello said: “I think that Salah does not feel confident with the coach (Arne Slot), who wants to try something different with these young players who were recently signed.
“Salah, who always felt very important, now does not feel truly confident or important on the part of the coach.
“The coach has his own ideas, but Salah is still the player who makes the difference. I don’t see any player at Liverpool who can offer anything more than what Mohamed Salah has offered,” he added.
Liverpool suffered a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in their latest Premier League outing, but Salah is expected to start when the Reds face Sunderland on Wednesday.
