South African outfit Stellenbosch have officially been eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup this season after succumbing to a heavy defeat to AS Otoho in the penultimate Group C clash on Sunday.
The Congolese outfit showcased resilience and determination throughout the match, cruising to an emphatic 3-0 victory over the Stellies at the Stade Alphonse Massamba-Débat.
With this defeat in Congo, the South African side has bowed out of the continental competition and will now shift their attention to domestic competitions.
AS Otoho broke the deadlock in the 38th-minute mark through Congo international Exauce Sagesse Nzaou before Klegnime Kone doubled the advantage for the home team before the half hour mark.
The host continued their demolition exercise in the second half, with Klegnime Kone firing home the third goal of the match in the 79th-minute to cement victory.
While Stellenbosch bows out of the competitions, the Congolese outfit has secured a place in the quarterfinal.
Currently, CR Belouizdad sit top of Group C, followed by the Congolese outfit, who has nine points after five matches.
