Zamalek coach Moataz Gamal expressed his delight following his team’s 5-2 triumph over Ismailia Electricity in today’s Premier League clash.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Gamal highlighted the challenges his side faced.
“We played today’s match missing 14 players,” he said. “No team in the world is expected to perform at this level under such circumstances and still secure victory.”
He praised his squad’s resilience, adding: “We do not stand in the way of any player. The most important thing is Zamalek’s interest. I thank the players for their tremendous effort over this period, both in results and performance.”
Looking ahead, the coach turned his attention to the team’s upcoming Confederation Cup fixture against Zesco in Zambia.
“We have a long journey ahead, and we will travel on a regular flight, not a private plane,” Gamal said.
He also commended the fans’ unwavering support. “Zamalek supporters are unique. Their commitment, especially in these circumstances, is extraordinary, and I thank them for following and encouraging the team.”
Gamal noted that many players were deployed out of their usual positions, with some still recovering from injuries.
“Despite the pressures and significant absences, we managed to achieve our goal,” he said.
Promising continued effort, the coach assured fans: “I will give my maximum effort in the coming period. Most players absent today will not be ready for the Zesco match, but we are determined to win our next Confederation Cup game and secure three points.”
He added that the return of injured players would provide more tactical options.
“Adam Kayed is versatile, and together with Abdullah Al-Saeed, Mohamed El-Sayed, and Ahmed Hamdi, they will form a formidable force for the team.”
With the win, Zamalek moved to 28 points in the league standings, continuing their strong run in the seventeenth round of the competition at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium.
