Durban City set to sign Congo Brazzaville striker Roland Teddy Okouri

Durban City are expected to complete the signing of Congo Brazzaville striker Roland Teddy Okouri before the domestic transfer window closes on 22 September.

The 25-year-old forward is currently completing the visa process required for his move to the South African club. Contract discussions have already taken place, and the paperwork is expected to clear the way for his transfer to Durban.

Okouri plays for Athletic Club Leopards de Dolisie, whom he joined last year after leaving AS Otoho D’Oyo. His arrival would increase the French-speaking presence within the Durban City squad.

Head coach Khalil Ben Youssef is already part of that group, alongside Malian left-back Alou Doumbia and DR Congo striker Jean Lubumba. Okouri would become the latest addition to the contingent.

Ben Youssef is seeking to strengthen his attacking options as Durban City compete in the CAF Confederation Cup this season. The club began their campaign with a 1-0 victory against Burundian side Rukinzo in the first leg of the preliminary round at the weekend.

If Durban City progress, they will face either Jwaneng Galaxy or AS Port Louis in the next round. The winners of that tie will then advance to the group stages.

Okouri’s proposed move would give Durban City another attacking option while they balance their domestic campaign with their continental commitments.
