Carlos Baleba injury concern for Cameroon before Namibia qualifiers

Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba was forced off injured shortly after half-time while playing for Manchester United against AS Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Baleba began the match at Old Trafford but stopped in the 48th minute after appearing to feel a problem at the back of his thigh. The 22-year-old was unable to continue and was replaced by Youri Tielemans.

Manchester United were still 2-0 down when the incident occurred. Baleba left the pitch and headed to the dressing room looking visibly disappointed, raising concerns about a possible muscle injury.

His withdrawal comes just days before Cameroon’s squad is due to meet for two matches against Namibia in the qualifying campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The timing of the injury is a concern for the Indomitable Lions, with Baleba’s availability for the upcoming international fixtures now in doubt.
