Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush has fired an early warning to Arsenal ahead of the Carabao Cup final, insisting that silverware remains a non-negotiable priority at the Etihad.
City booked their place at Wembley after comfortably seeing off Newcastle United in the semi-finals, carrying a 2-0 advantage into the second leg before emphatically completing the job.
Marmoush played a decisive role in the victory, scoring twice within the opening half hour, while Tijani Raynders added a third on the night to seal a commanding 5-1 aggregate triumph.
The Citizens will now face Premier League leaders Arsenal in the final on March 22, with the Gunners still chasing an ambitious quadruple this season. Despite playing a supporting role for much of the campaign behind Erling Haaland, Marmoush made it clear that Manchester City’s standards remain relentlessly high.
The Egyptian striker, who joined City in January 2025 and is still awaiting his first trophy with the club, highlighted the hunger within Pep Guardiola’s squad to continue collecting honours.
Speaking to Sky Sports after reaching the final, Marmoush said, “We showed a very good mentality. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. We are here to win championships. We were together as a team. From the first minute, we were very focused on the task.”
He stressed that the desire to win runs deep throughout the squad, regardless of experience or status.
“We showed our mentality and passion and we are very happy to have reached the final. We do our best every day to reach these finals and win championships. We hope we can achieve this for all the new players as well as the players who have been here,” the attacker added.
Marmoush also underlined his excitement at the prospect of contesting a major final, making it clear that City approach every competition with the same ambition.
“I’m very excited. Reaching the final is the best feeling. We would like to reach every final we can. We are very happy to be there. Now we are focused on the upcoming matches, and hopefully we will win the final,” Marmoush shared.
