Guinea international defender Mohamed Soumah has completed a move to Sweden, signing for top-flight side IK Sirius after leaving Jong Gent.
The 22-year-old departs Gent’s reserve team, which competes in the Challenger Pro League, to continue his career in the Swedish first division.
His transfer brings an end to a productive spell in Belgium, where he developed into a key figure within the club’s youth structure.
Soumah initially joined Jong Gent on loan in the summer of 2023, a move that marked his first sustained experience in European football.
His performances during that period convinced the club to make the transfer permanent a year later, underlining his steady progress and growing importance to the team.
During his time with Gent’s U23 side, Soumah established himself as a regular starter and eventually captained the team. Across all competitions, he made 70 appearances, contributing significantly to Jong Gent’s promotion to the Challenger Pro League last season.
At international level, the defender has also begun to make his mark. Soumah has earned three caps for Guinea, adding senior international experience to his profile as he continues to develop at club level.
