Patrick Zabi is set to make a high-profile move to Paris FC next summer after the Parisian club reached an agreement to secure the highly rated midfielder’s signature.
The 19-year-old, who joined Stade de Reims only a year ago, has enjoyed a rapid rise in French football and is now poised for what is expected to be the most significant step of his young career.
According to Foot Mercato, Paris FC have finalised a deal in advance to bring the Ivorian talent to the capital at the end of the current season, following months of close interest.
Paris FC had already explored a move during the previous summer transfer window, but the club is understood to have waited before making a decisive approach.
That patience appears to have paid off. Reports suggest the agreement was concluded during the winter, allowing Paris FC to move ahead of several rival clubs monitoring the player’s progress.
Details published by L’Équipe indicate that Paris FC have persuaded Reims to part with one of their most valuable assets after tabling an offer of €25m.
The proposed fee represents a substantial return for the Champagne-based club, who signed Zabi for just €100,000 in January 2025 after he emerged from Ivoire FC’s youth system.
The scale of the offer is also reported to have enabled Paris FC to fend off competition from other interested sides, including Newcastle and Galatasaray, both of whom had been tracking the midfielder’s development this season.
Nicknamed “Zabi the Magician”, the teenager has made a strong impression in his first full campaign at top level.
His performances have been marked by a blend of physical presence, technical ability and composure beyond his years, qualities that have quickly established him as one of the standout young players in the French league.
Zabi has been a key figure for Reims this season, contributing two goals and three assists across 21 appearances.
His consistency and maturity on the pitch have drawn widespread attention and earned him the status of a breakout player in the current campaign.
While Reims are set to lose a promising talent, the transfer underlines the club’s ability to develop and showcase young players.
For Paris FC, the anticipated arrival of Zabi next summer signals a clear statement of intent as they look to strengthen their squad with one of the most sought-after prospects in French football.
