Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad have reportedly identified Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah as their top transfer priority ahead of the upcoming summer window.
According to Egyptian journalist Ismael Mahmood, league officials are keen on making a major statement signing, with Salah emerging as the standout target.
Al-Ittihad are understood to be leading the chase for the Egyptian international as they search for a new talisman following Karim Benzema’s move to rivals Al-Hilal.
The club sees Salah as the ideal figure to spearhead its next phase and reinforce its status both domestically and on the continental stage.
While no formal approach has yet been made to Liverpool, the situation is being closely tracked by decision-makers in Saudi Arabia.
Salah’s future at Anfield remains the subject of growing speculation, particularly as the summer approaches.
The 33-year-old was previously linked with an exit after making comments that stirred debate regarding new head coach Arne Slot and the club’s hierarchy.
Although tensions have since eased and Salah has returned to the starting lineup following his Africa Cup of Nations duties, uncertainty still surrounds whether he will extend his stay on Merseyside beyond the end of the season.
With Al-Ittihad prepared to move decisively, the coming months could prove pivotal in determining the next chapter of Salah’s illustrious career.
