Hamza Abdelkarim has landed in Barcelona as his much-anticipated move to the Catalan giants edges towards completion.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT, the young striker arrived on Saturday and will undergo a medical before finalising his transfer. He was welcomed at the airport by his agent, Christian Emile, in another clear sign that the deal is in its final stages.
Abdelkarim is set to join Barça on loan from Al Ahly, with the agreement including an option to buy for around 3 million euros. Al Ahly president Walid Salah recently confirmed the move, expressing his hope that the forward can establish himself at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Egyptian side were determined negotiators, reflecting Abdelkarim’s status as one of the brightest emerging talents in their squad.
Barcelona view the deal as a smart, low-risk investment with potential long-term upside.
If Abdelkarim impresses during his spell in Spain, he is expected to be integrated into the first-team’s preseason preparations next summer, giving him a chance to fight for a permanent place at the club.
