Simba SC will welcome Espérance de Tunis on Sunday in a crucial CAF Champions League Matchday 4 encounter that could play a decisive role in shaping the Group D qualification picture as the group stage reaches a critical phase.
The Tanzanian giants head into the fixture under pressure after a difficult start to their campaign. Simba currently sit bottom of the group following three consecutive defeats and are yet to find the back of the net in the competition. Their struggles have been compounded by a lack of confidence, having lost to Espérance de Tunis, Stade Malien, and Petro de Luanda in their previous outings.
Espérance de Tunis, on the other hand, arrive in Dar es Salaam in far stronger form. The Tunisian champions remain unbeaten after three group matches and already hold the psychological advantage, having edged Simba 1-0 in their earlier meeting. Their disciplined defensive approach and wealth of experience at this level have kept them firmly on course for qualification.
