Moroccan international Abdessamad Ezzalzouli contributed to Real Betis’s direct qualification to the Europa League round of 16 on Thursday, after triumphing over Feyenoord in the final round of the group stage.
The former Barcelona youngster started and played full throttle of the match, as Real Betis cruised to victory to secure automatic qualification to the next stage of the competition.
Ezzalzouli, who recently returned from the AFCON 2025 tournament played a pivotal role by registering his name on the scoresheet, contributing to the Spanish outfit qualification.
Real Betis opened the scoring through former Manchester United star Antony after 17 minutes before Ezzalzouli doubled the lead for the host in the 32nd minute.
In the 77th-minute, the Dutch giants pulled one back through Casper Tengstedt, but was not enough to salvage his outfit from defeat.
The Moroccan international has been impressive for Real Betis this season, scoring eight goals across competitions for the club.
Real Betis finished fourth on the Europa League group stage, accumulating 17 points from eight matches. The Spanish club will learn their opponent in the round of 16 after the playoffs scheduled for February 2026.
