MC Alger head coach Rulani Mokwena is reportedly eager to strengthen his midfield and has urged the club to pursue the signing of Chahreddine Boukholda from MC Oran ahead of the January transfer deadline.
With the Algerian transfer window closing on January 31, MC Alger are said to be racing against time to finalise reinforcements, particularly in light of their disappointing CAF Champions League campaign so far.
However, reports suggest Mokwena has also strongly recommended the acquisition of Sidi Bouna Amar from Libyan heavyweights Al Ittihad.
The Mauritanian midfielder previously worked under Mokwena at Wydad Athletic Club, where he recorded two goals and one assist in 14 appearances during the South African’s tenure.
Mokwena is believed to view Amar as a perfect fit for his tactical approach, with the player’s technical profile aligning closely with his midfield philosophy.
The 27-year-old is currently valued at €450,000, according to Transfermarkt.
