Cameroon international Eric Dina Ebimbe reflected on his decision to represent Cameroon, stressing he was never bothered to represent the indomitable Lions.
For the 25-year-old, choosing Cameroon was never a constraint. A conversation with David Pagou, who was appointed coach on the eve of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, changed everything.
“It’s my country. It never bothered me to play for Cameroon. It was just a matter of timing. I spoke with the coach when he was appointed. He explained his vision to me and the message came across loud and clear,” explained Eric Dina Ebimbe.
Speaking about his first match with the Cameroon national team at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the player said it was emotional.
‘It was an emotional moment because it’s a very heavy shirt. It was an honour to wear the Lions’ shirt during the AFCON. I hope there will be more to come.’
Eric Dina Ebimbe believes he did what he had to do with the Indomitable Lions at the 2025 AFCON. ‘I played three matches, and I would say that against Gabon and Mozambique, I was quite satisfied with my performances. Against Morocco, it was a little more complicated for me, as I came on without warming up in a position that I don’t really master.’
