Al Ahly head coach Jess Torop oversaw his team’s first training session in Tanzania as preparations intensified for their CAF Champions League clash with Young Africans.
The Egyptian giants arrived in Zanzibar on Thursday afternoon, buoyed by a 2-0 victory in the first leg played last weekend at the Borg El Arab Stadium.
Shortly after checking into their hotel, the players headed to the auxiliary pitch at the Amani Stadium for a workout.
According to the club, Torop opted to hold the session immediately after arrival to aid recovery and maintain physical sharpness.
The decision was aimed at helping the squad shake off fatigue from the nearly six-hour flight.
Al Ahly currently lead Group B of the CAF Champions League with seven points, holding a three-point advantage over Young Africans, who sit second with four points.
Royal Army and Kabylie Youth occupy third and fourth positions respectively, both on two points.
