French Ivorian defender Abdoul Koné has arrived in Leipzig to undergo his medical examination ahead of a confirmed transfer from Stade Reims to RB Leipzig.
According to Sky Germany expert Florian Plettenberg, the deal is already considered a done transaction, with both clubs having reached full agreement.
The move is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2026, with RB Leipzig set to pay a fixed transfer fee estimated between 16 and 18 million euros, alongside additional performance-related bonuses.
Koné is expected to sign a long-term contract that will keep him at the Bundesliga side until 2031, with only final contractual details currently being finalised.
The 20-year-old central defender has just arrived in Leipzig, where he is presently undergoing the required medical tests as part of the transfer process.
Koné has been a key figure for Stade Reims this season, establishing himself as a regular starter. He has featured in 18 matches in Ligue 2, contributing one goal and one assist, performances that have drawn strong interest from Germany and secured his future move to the Bundesliga.
