RS Berkane have completed the signing of experienced goalkeeper Anas Zniti, securing his services on a contract that runs until the end of the current season.
The move comes as a swift response from the club’s management following the injury setback suffered by their first-choice goalkeeper, Munir Mohamedi.
The Moroccan international recently underwent successful shoulder surgery and is expected to be sidelined for more than three months, prompting Berkane to act quickly in the transfer market to ensure stability between the posts.
With the season entering a crucial phase, Renaissance Berkane identified the need for a dependable and experienced replacement capable of stepping in immediately and maintaining the team’s competitiveness. Zniti’s signing is viewed as a strategic decision, given his vast experience at both domestic and continental levels.
The deal also marks Anas Zniti’s return to competitive football after spending the first half of the season without a club. The veteran shot-stopper last featured for Al Wasl FC in the United Arab Emirates, whom he joined during the previous transfer window before parting ways.
Zniti’s arrival is expected to provide reassurance and leadership at the back as Renaissance Berkane navigate the remainder of the campaign, while Mohamedi continues his recovery and rehabilitation process
