Veteran goalkeeper Anas Zniti has made his return to the Moroccan national championship after joining Renaissance Berkane during the current winter transfer window.
RS Berkane have secured the services of the former Raja Casablanca shot-stopper on a six-month contract that will run until the end of the season, with an option for renewal included in the agreement.
The move marks Zniti’s comeback to domestic football following his recent spell away from the Botola.
The Berkane management moved quickly to sign Zniti as a replacement for Munir El Mohammadi, who recently underwent surgery and is expected to be sidelined for a period. Zniti’s experience is seen as a key asset as the club navigates the remainder of the campaign.
Over the course of his career, Zniti has represented several top Moroccan clubs, including Maghreb Fez and FAR Rabat, before enjoying a successful spell with Raja Casablanca. He has also gained experience abroad, having previously played in the United Arab Emirates.
His arrival is expected to provide stability and leadership between the posts for Renaissance Berkane as they continue their domestic and continental commitments.
