Zouhair Dari, father and agent of Moroccan defender Achraf Dari, has provided an update on his son’s future at Al Ahly, outlining the conditions under which the player could leave the club and his preferred next destination.
Speaking in a televised interview, Zouhair Dari revealed that discussions with Al Ahly’s management are centred on two clear options, with no alternative proposals on the table.
“We are negotiating with Al-Ahly on two matters, and there is no third, to resolve Ashraf’s situation,” he said.
“First, the contract is terminated permanently, as the player is requesting $2.5 million in exchange for ending the contractual relationship by mutual consent between the two parties.”
The second scenario would see Achraf Dari leave either on loan or through a permanent transfer, provided his salary remains unchanged.
According to his father, the defender currently earns $800,000 per year at Al Ahly, and any move must guarantee him the same amount.
“Or a loan or a transfer to a new club, but on the condition that Ashraf’s salary is not less than what he currently earns at Al Ahly,” noting that Ashraf’s annual salary is $800,000.
He explained that the method of payment (whether Al Ahly covers it entirely or partially) is not important to the player, as long as he is guaranteed to receive his full salary.”
He added that the structure of the payment—whether Al Ahly pays the full salary or shares the burden with the receiving club—is not a concern for the player, as long as his earnings are fully secured.
Zouhair Dari also disclosed that a move to France is the most likely outcome should his son depart the Cairo-based giants, stressing that the player is keen on returning to European football.
“The most likely scenario in the event of his departure is that Ashraf will move to one of the French clubs; the player has a strong desire to return to playing in Europe again, and that is our top priority at the moment.”
