The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has issued its final decision in the dispute between Egyptian club Pyramids and several players from their 2009-born youth team, firmly siding with the club.

CAS rejected the appeal lodged by the youngsters against an earlier ruling from the Egyptian FA’s Players’ Status Committee, which had already confirmed the legality of Pyramids’ position.

The players had argued that Pyramids failed to respect their contractual rights and sought to move to other clubs without the approval of their current team. Pyramids, however, insisted that any transfer required the club’s consent and that the conditions for unilateral contract termination set out in the regulations were not met.

The CAS judgment confirmed that stance, stressing that the players did not fall under any of the exceptional cases that would allow them to break their contracts.

In practical terms, the ruling aligns completely with the Egyptian FA’s decision and definitively secures Pyramids’ rights over their youth players.

The club can now keep its academy group intact without fear of further legal challenges, while the verdict sends a clear message about respecting youth contracts and the importance of following formal procedures for transfers and contract disputes.
