Egyptian forward Shady Hussein has confirmed the passing of his father, Brigadier General Hussein Fikri, in a deeply emotional message shared on social media.
The former Al Ahly striker announced that his father died on Monday, January 26.
Taking to Instagram, the current Zed FC player wrote, “My father, Brigadier General Hussein Fikri, has passed away. To God we belong, and to Him we shall return.”
Hussein followed up with a heartfelt prayer, asking for mercy and eternal peace for his late father.
He added, “We ask God to have mercy on him, to grant him a spacious place in Paradise, and to make him one of the people of the highest Paradise.”
The 32-year-old joined Al Ahly in the summer of 2022 after a move from Ceramica Cleopatra, signing a five-year deal. His stay with the Cairo giants, however, was short-lived, as he spent just one season at the club before completing a transfer to Zed FC.
