Al Ahly’s board, led by chairman Mahmoud El Khatib, has sent a message of support to former club president Mahmoud Taher after he suffered an undisclosed health issue.
The club published a statement wishing Taher a swift recovery.
“Al Ahly’s board of directors, headed by Captain Mahmoud El Khatib, along with the club’s employees and its sporting departments, wish engineer Mahmoud Taher, former president of Al Ahly, a speedy recovery. Get well soon,” the statement said.
Taher served as Al Ahly president from 2013 to 2017.
The club is preparing to face Zamalek on Sunday at Cairo Stadium in the sixth round of the Egyptian League.
