European clubs have not made any formal offers to sign Al Ahly and Egypt goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy, despite recent reports.
Reports earlier this week hinted that El Shenawy had been approached with a potential move away from Al Ahly.
However, sources close to the goalkeeper have dismissed those claims, confirming that no official bids have been received and that the club captain has no plans to leave during the current winter transfer window.
According to the same source, El Shenawy’s priority remains his role at Al Ahly as he prepares to rejoin the Egyptian national team for the upcoming World Cup in June.
“Mohamed El Shenawy has not received any offers, and he has no intention of leaving during the current transfer window. His entire focus is on participating with Al Ahly for the World Cup,” the source said.
El Shenawy featured for Egypt at the recent Africa Cup of Nations and is now expected to return to Al Ahly duty in the coming weeks.
This season, the experienced goalkeeper has made 13 appearances for Al Ahly, playing 1,159 minutes. He has kept five clean sheets and conceded 10 goals.
