Juventus have ruled out a move for Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri, with club director Giorgio Chiellini revealing why negotiations collapsed during the current winter transfer window.
The former Italy defender confirmed that despite discussions taking place, the Bianconeri have no plans to revive the deal after failing to reach common ground with the player.
Speaking on the matter, Chiellini explained that doubts from En-Nesyri over the structure of the proposed agreement ultimately proved decisive.
He said: “En-Nesyri had doubts about the nature of the agreement, particularly regarding the loan move followed by a permanent transfer. After reviewing the situation, we consider the deal to have collapsed, and we will not sign En-Nesyri on a permanent basis.”
The clarification brings an end to speculation linking the Juventus with the Moroccan international, who had emerged as a potential attacking option as the club assessed reinforcements for the second half of the season.
Juventus were understood to be exploring a loan arrangement with a view to a permanent move, but uncertainty over those terms prevented progress.
En-Nesyri remains contracted to Turkish side Fenerbahce, where his performances have continued to attract interest across Europe.
While Juventus have stepped away, the striker’s future remains open, with reports suggesting a possible return to Sevilla, the club where he previously enjoyed his most productive spell in Spanish football.
The Andalusian side are believed to be monitoring his situation closely as they look to bolster their attacking options.
For Juventus, the decision to abandon the deal reflects a cautious approach in the market, prioritising clarity and long-term planning over short-term fixes.
