Moroccan outfit Olympic Club de Safi put up a splendid performance to secure victory over San Pedro in the third round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage clash.
The two teams clashed in a highly competitive match, held at the Stade Laurent Pokou, Ivory Coast on Sunday, with the Moroccan outfit emerging as winners.
Olympic Club de Safi made an impressive start to the match, scoring the opening goal under one minute through Morocco international Imad Khannouss before Aboubakar Karamoko scored to pull parity in the 36th-minute.
Five minutes to the break, the visitors found the back of the net again through Sofiane El Moudane to restore their lead in the match. And with no additional goal in the second half, the Morocco outfit cruised to victory to merit the three maximum points at stake.
Olympic Club de Safi have now moved to the second spot in Group A, accumulating six points after recording two wins and a defeat from the initial three matches. They trail log leaders USM Alger, who holds a 100 percent record with three straight wins.
Following the defeat, the Ivorian outfit has dropped to the third position on the standings in Group A with just three points, while Djoliba AC sit bottom without a point.
