Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri is edging closer to a move to Italian Serie A giants Juventus, with negotiations with Fenerbahce now in their final stages during the current winter transfer window.
Juventus are reportedly very close to securing the services of the Morocco international, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirming significant progress in talks between the two clubs.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed that, “The agreement has already been drafted… The deal will be a loan with an option to buy, giving Juventus the opportunity to keep En-Nesyri for next season as well.”
Romano explained that discussions intensified after Juventus sporting director Marco Ottolini travelled to Istanbul and managed to narrow the gap between the parties. “We are now in the final stretch of the difficult negotiations, after Juventus sporting director Marco Ottolini succeeded in narrowing the gap with Fenerbahce following his trip to Istanbul,” he said.
Further details of the proposed move have also emerged, with Romano stressing the importance of flexibility for the Italian club.
“The deal will be a loan with an option to buy, which will not be mandatory, and this is an important condition for Juve to evaluate the striker in the summer,” he added.
According to the report, the loan fee is expected to be slightly below four million euros, while Juventus will cover the player’s full salary during the loan period. The purchase option included in the agreement is believed to be just under 20 million euros.
At present, Juventus are said to have reached an agreement with En-Nesyri on personal terms, while discussions over agent commissions are being finalised. Romano noted that Saturday could be the decisive day for the final green light that would allow the deal to be completed.
Juventus shifted their focus to En-Nesyri after talks with Crystal Palace for Jean-Philippe Mateta failed to progress.
The Turin club were unwilling to accept the loan with an obligation to buy proposed by the English side and instead opted for En-Nesyri, valuing his extensive experience at both European and international levels.
