Al Ahly head coach Jess Thorup has shared his thoughts ahead of his side’s CAF Champions League clash with Young Africans, stressing the importance of the fixture and the role of the club’s supporters.
Speaking before the game, the Danish tactician highlighted how much the team has missed the Red Giants’ fans following the resumption of matches after the Africa Cup of Nations break.
“This match is very important for both teams today. We are back to continue playing matches in the tournament,” Thorup told beIN SPORTS.
He also issued a rallying call to the supporters, expressing hope for a strong turnout.
“We miss our fans very much and we hope for strong support from them today for the team to help us win and collect the 3 points,” he added.
