Midfielder Mohamed El-Sayed has signed a contract extension with Egyptian football heavyweights, Zamalek SC.
The extension of contract comes at a difficult time for the White Castle, as Zamalek continues to grapple with a financial crisis and a registration suspension imposed due to nine pending cases at FIFA. Despite these hurdles, the club has moved decisively to retain talent critical to its squad.
The enterprising midfielder penned a three and a half seasons contract extension, keeping him at the club for a longer period. The extension ensures that El-Sayed remains a central figure in the team’s plans for both domestic and continental competitions.
El-Sayed personally signed the new contract after reaching a full agreement on all terms with the club’s management.
His renewal comes after months of speculation linking him with a move to Zamalek’s rivals, Al-Ahly. Despite these rumours, the midfielder has committed his immediate future to the White Castle.
Earlier reports had suggested that negotiations between Zamalek and El-Sayed were progressing positively, indicating that an agreement to keep him at the club was imminent, and a prediction that has now been confirmed.
With this contract renewal, Zamalek not only retains a key midfield presence but also sends a strong signal to fans and rivals alike that the club remains focused on stability and competitiveness, even amid financial and administrative challenges.
