Nice in talks to sign Wolfsburg forward Mohamed Amoura, says Sky Sports

Nice have opened negotiations with Wolfsburg over a potential deal for Algeria striker Mohamed Amoura during the current transfer window, according to Sky Sports.

Talks between the French club and the German side are understood to be progressing positively, with a loan move one possible outcome. Discussions also include the possibility of giving Nice an option to make the transfer permanent.

However, the two clubs have not yet reached a final agreement, with the remaining details of the proposed deal still being negotiated.

Amoura, 26, remains under contract at Wolfsburg, but his future has become uncertain after the club’s relegation to Germany’s second tier. Nice are hoping to conclude the discussions in the coming period, although the final terms have yet to be settled.

The forward made 33 appearances for Wolfsburg last season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists. He has not played since the start of the current campaign because of an injury.

If the move is completed, Amoura could join fellow North African internationals Mohamed Abdelmonem and Ali Abdi at Nice. Abdelmonem represents Egypt, while Abdi plays for Tunisia.

The proposed move would give Nice the chance to add an attacking player with recent experience in German football, although it remains unclear whether the clubs will ultimately agree on the financial and contractual conditions required to complete the transfer.

For now, the negotiations remain ongoing. Nice are working towards an agreement with Wolfsburg, while the potential loan arrangement and any clause allowing a permanent purchase continue to form part of the discussions.

No deal has been formally completed, and Amoura’s return to competitive action will also depend on his recovery from the injury that has kept him out at the beginning of the season.
