Head coach of Al Ahly Jess Thorup has set sights on securing victory against Young African in the third round of the CAF Champion League group stage.
In a highly competitive clash on Friday, the record holders will play host to the Tanzanian football heavyweights in Egypt. It promises to be a thrilling encounter as both teams are tied on four points after two matches.
But Thorup, who replaced Jose Riveiro has said his outfit will strive to give their all in order to secure victory over their opponent.
“We are preparing well for the match, especially since the past period witnessed the absence of international players and we relied on young players during that time.”
“We have a tough match against a strong opponent who has the same number of points, and we are striving to give our best. Al-Ahly players have trained hard and we have prepared well for this match.”
“I am putting my full focus on the Young Africans match in order to achieve victory, especially with the presence of a number of new signings in the match squad.”
“We have international players who had a commitment to the national teams, which is something we accept and deal with as a matter of fact, and we seek to complete the victories we achieved before the long break.”
Al Ahly occupies first place in the second group of the African Champions League, with 4 points, and is tied with Young Africans in points.
