France international of Malian descent Ibrahima Konate has sadly lost his father, Hamadi Konate, coming as a huge blow to the footballer.
Despite not disclosing the cause of his death, the Liverpool marksman has officially confirmed the passing of his father.
“There is not a single deceased person for whom a group of at least one hundred Muslims prays to Allah, asking for mercy for him, without their prayers being accepted.” Konate wrote on Instagram.
The funeral procession for Hamadi Konaté will begin on Friday, February 23, at the mosque in Aulnay-sous-Bois, 283 Route de Roissy, France.
Meanwhile, the former RB Leipzig rock-solid centre-back, who is in the final year of his contract at Liverpool, has yet to sign a new deal for the club, sparking speculations about his future.
Konaté joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2021 for transfer fee reported to be €40m. He established himself as one of the best right-sided centre-backs in Europe alongside Virgil van Dijk.
