Al Ahly have bolstered their squad with five new signings during the January transfer window as the club looks to strengthen its first-team options for the remainder of the season.
The Egyptian giants confirmed the arrivals of Ahmed Eid from Al-Masry Al-Portsaidi, Raja Casablanca left-back Youssef Belamri, Al Ahly Bank defender Amr El Gazzar, Ceramica Cleopatra forward Marwan Osman, and Petrojet centre-back Hadi Riad.
Attention now turns to continental action, with Al Ahly continuing preparations for a crucial CAF Champions League group-stage encounter against Young Africans.
The highly anticipated clash is scheduled for Friday, January 23, at the Borg El Arab Stadium, where up to 30,000 fans are expected to be in attendance. Kick-off is set for 6:00 pm Cairo time.
In the group standings, Al Ahly currently sit top with four points, level with Young Africans.
Raja Casablanca are third with one point, while Algeria’s JS Kabylie occupy fourth place, also on one point.
The defending champions opened their group-stage campaign with a victory over JS Kabylie before settling for a 1-1 draw away from home against Moroccan side FAR Rabat.
