Pyramids have completed the signing of Egyptian playmaker Nasser Maher from Zamalek after reaching a full agreement with the White Castle board over a permanent transfer.
According to Kooora, Pyramids, the 28-year-old has agreed a four–and–a–half–year contract, committing his long-term future to the club.
The deal is expected to be announced officially within hours, once Pyramids receive the player’s official release papers from Zamalek. Maher’s arrival is seen as a major boost to the defending Egypt Cup champions, who are strengthening their squad for the league and continental campaigns.
Maher began his senior career at Al Ahly, where he came through the youth ranks before spending loan spells with Petrojet and Smouha. He then left Al Ahly permanently in the summer of 2021 to join Modern Sport, rebuilding his reputation as one of the league’s most creative attacking midfielders. In January 2024, he completed a move to Zamalek, adding further weight to his CV with another of Egypt’s traditional giants.
This season, Maher has played 19 matches for Zamalek in all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists. His ability to operate between the lines, link midfield and attack and contribute directly to goals made him a key target for Pyramids’ recruitment team.
Pyramids have also been busy elsewhere in the market. The club recently wrapped up the signing of Palestinian forward Hamed Hamdan from Petrojet and reached an agreement to bring in Zambian winger Pascal Phiri from ZESCO United, underlining an ambitious push on multiple fronts.
