Mouloudia Club of Algiers (MC Algier) have secured the Algerian Super Cup title after defeating USM Alger in a high-stake clash on Saturday.
The match, held at the Nelson Mandela Stadium ended 1-0 in favour of MC Alger, marking their second consecutive success in the Super Cup competition.
Zakaria Naidji emerged as the hero for MC Algier, scoring the only goal of the match in the 74th-minute mark.
MC Algiers have now won five titles in the Algerian Super Cup, three titles ahead of their closest rivals. They have been dominant in the last two editions, winning all titles at the expense of their opponents.
It is important to note that the Algerian Super Cup competitions, which begun in 1981 were not held during the period from 2020 to 2023.
Eight different teams have won the title, the most being Mouloudia Club of Algiers with five title.
This come as a huge achievement for South African gaffer Rhulani Mokwena, who joined the club before the commencement of the current campaign.
