Fans flooded squares, streets, and alleys, waving flags, chanting “Dima Maghreb,” and sounding car horns in a show of national pride.
Joy extended beyond the economic capital, with residents of Settat and El Jadida taking to public spaces to cheer the Atlas Lions’ historic achievement.
Supporters praised the team’s technical skill and resilience, viewing the semi-final win as a crucial step toward claiming the continental title.
“The positive results of Moroccan football are the fruit of years of hard work and a clear vision for national development,” one fan told the Maghreb Arab Press Agency. “This performance strengthens Morocco’s position as a rising power in African and world football.”
The Atlas Lions will face Senegal in the final on 18 January at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, following the Teranga Lions’ 1-0 victory over Egypt in the semi-finals at the Grand Stadium in Tangier.
