Tanzania coach Miguel Gamondi has singled out Nigeria as the standout team among the four semifinalists at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Super Eagles join hosts Morocco, Egypt, and Senegal in the tournament’s last four, with Nigeria set to face Morocco and Senegal taking on Egypt in tonight’s semifinals.

Speaking to Egyptian channel On Sport, Gamondi praised the quality of the remaining teams, highlighting the fine margins that will decide the outcomes at this stage.

“It is very clear that the semi-finals include the four best teams, and the opportunity is open for all four. I believe that at this stage of the tournament, it’s all about small details and the quality of the players available,” he said.

While acknowledging the strength of all semifinalists, Gamondi described Nigeria as particularly formidable.

“Each of the four teams has a player who can make a difference with a single play. Currently, I see Nigeria as the most impactful because they score many goals and haven’t conceded many. They seem very strong, but as I said, I see them as the four strongest teams in Africa right now.”
