Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has emerged as a candidate for the Tunisia coaching job following the departure of Sami Trabelsi.
The Carthage Eagles are currently without a substantive coach following the departure of Sami Trabelsi after 2025 Africa Cup of Nation elimination.
Tunisia painfully exited the continental showpiece, being held in Morocco after falling short to Mali on penalties in the round of 16 clash.
The North African football outfit are now on the hunt of the new coach following the exit of Trabelsi after early AFCON elimination, with Nasreddine Nabi emerging as candidate.
Nabi has been club-less since parting ways with Kaizer Chiefs three months ago under a dark cloud and has now emerged as a replacement for Trabelsi.
RS Berkane’s Mouin Chaâbani, Maher Kanzari, currently at Taraji, Nabil Kouki and Khaled Ben Yahia have been presented to the Tunisian FA but it appears Nabi is in the lead for the job.
Nabi has also been reported to be entertaining offers from Saudi Arabia and Middle East but a job with prospects of World Cup is likely to be attractive to the former Amakhosi man.
The new coach will be tasked with preparing the team for the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Tunisia will face the Netherlands, Japan, and the winner of the European playoff B (Ukraine, Sweden, Poland, or Albania) at the group stages of the World Cup.
