Zimbabwean football has been plunged into mourning following the tragic death of Frankson Bushiri in a car accident in Gweru on Sunday, Sheasham Football Club has confirmed.
Bushiri, 35, who played for ZIFA Central Region Soccer League side Sheasham as well as Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League team TelOne and various lower-division clubs, died instantly when his vehicle reportedly lost control and struck a tree.
Announcing the news, Sheasham FC expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to Bushiri’s family and loved ones.
“It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Mr. Frankson ‘Warrior’ Bushiri, who departed from us this morning,” the club stated.
“Our deepest thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support are with his beloved family, friends, and all who held him dear during this time of immense grief and loss.
“We pray for God’s comforting strength and peace to surround them. May his kind soul find eternal rest.
“Frankson’s legacy of dedication and spirit will forever live on in the hearts and lives of those he touched.”
