Spanish outfit Valencia have completed the permanent acquisition of Nigeria international Umar Sadiq, bringing an end to his spell at Real Sociedad.
Sadiq spent last season on loan at Valencia from Real Sociedad for a reported transfer fee of €1.5 million. Following an impressive spell, the club has moved to make the deal permanent for €5 million transfer fee.
The Nigerian forward signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the Mestalla until 2028 and is expected to play a huge role for the club.
During his time at Valencia in the 2024/25 season, Sadiq made 19 appearances and scored 6 goals, convincing the management to pursue a full transfer.
Sadiq made seven appearances in the current season for Real Sociedad, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists before switching to Valencia.
With this move, the Nigeria attacker will be hoping to regain their form in order to prove his worth at the club, having enjoyed an impressive loan spell.
The forward was initially named in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, but missed out on the final squad for the tournament due to an injury setback.
