Morocco giants Wydad AC have completed the acquisition of Franco-Moroccan defender Nabil Khali in the current winter transfer window.
The 27-year-old enterprising left-back joins the Moroccan football heavyweights as a free agent after ending his spell with Moldovan outfit Milsami Orhei.
Nabil Khali, who is of Moroccan origin joined Wydad to become their second winter signing for the current season.
He started his career in France with Nice before joining Tabor Cejana in Slovenia. After spell in Slovenia, the enterprising left-back moved Moldova, where his signed for Milsame, with whom he reached the preliminary rounds of the Champions League.
During his last season, Nabil Khali made 16 appearances for the Moldovan outfit, during which he scored 3 goals and provided 6 assists.
Before Nabil Khali, Wydad had announced the signing of Ayman Al-Wafi in a transfer deal reportedly worth one million euros, coming from Swiss club Lugano.
Wydad signed several players last summer in preparation for the Club World Cup, most notably Noureddine Amrabat, Burkina Faso’s Aziz Ki, and South Africa’s Themankosi Lorch.
The most important reinforcement came with the addition of Hakim Ziyech, who is expected to begin his stint in January.
Wydad leads the Moroccan league standings with 20 points after 8 rounds. In the Confederation Cup, Wydad sit top of their group with 6 points from two games.
