Al Ahly step up preparations for Kitara CAF Confederation Cup tie

Al Ahly have resumed training in Uganda as they prepare to face Kitara in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The two sides will meet in Hoima on Saturday in the first leg of the competition’s round of 32. Al Ahly manager Hussein Ammouta began the session with a range of fitness exercises before overseeing a half-pitch game involving the full squad.

Goalkeepers Mohamed El Shenawy, Mostafa Shobeir and Hamza Alaa completed a separate programme under the supervision of the goalkeeping coach.

The training session began at 16:00 Cairo time at Hoima International Stadium.

Al Ahly’s squad for the match is:

The match will be broadcast by ON Sport, while Al Ahly TV will show the second leg in Egypt exclusively.

The winner of the tie will qualify directly for the group stage.

Al Ahly go into the match after beating Zamalek 2-0 in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League. They are competing in the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing third in last season’s league.
