Anis Hadj Moussa walked off the pitch in Casablanca with a wide smile, proud of both his personal performance and Algeria’s perfect group campaign at AFCON 2025.
The winger was at the heart of a slick 3-1 win over Equatorial Guinea that confirmed Algeria’s place at the top of Group E with maximum points.
Hadj Moussa’s precise inswinging corner set the tone, picking out Zineddine Belaïd for the opening goal after just 18 minutes. A few minutes later, Algeria’s pressure told again as Fares Chaïbi finished confidently to make it 2-0 and underline the team’s dominance. Before the break, Hadj Moussa was involved once more, combining smartly in attack to supply Ibrahim Maza for a clinical third that effectively killed the contest.
Named TotalEnergies Man of the Match, Hadj Moussa reflected on a job well done and the importance of the result heading into the knockouts.
“Im very delighted having won this trophy. Without the team, I would not have won this trophy. We had to play a good match and win it ahead of the round of 16. It will be tough knockout stage, so a win is crucial in getting our confidence up ahead of the knockout stages of the competition”.
