Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has hailed the impact of Franco-Cameroon attacker Hugo Ekitike at Liverpool ahead their showdown.
The Reds will take on Leeds United on Thursday, January 1, 2026 in the week 19 of the Premier League campaign, with both teams seeking for maximum points.
Ekitike joined Liverpool in the summer transfer window from Eintracht Frankfurt and has since established himself as a key member of the team.
The 23-year-old has racked up eight Premier League goals and provided an assists in 17 appearances since his arrival, signaling his strong start to life at Liverpool.
“Facing Liverpool at this time would make any team fear the worst, especially after they returned to the title race and played seven games unbeaten.”
“Liverpool have returned to the top positions in the league table, and the quality of the team or its individual potential cannot be underestimated.”
“The absence of Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak does not make the match easier. When you look at the available attacking options, you will realize the extent of the danger.”
“Hugo Ekiteke is making a very strong start with Liverpool, and I know him well from the Bundesliga and he is in great form,” he stressed.
Liverpool are currently fourth in the English Premier League table with 32 points. Meanwhile, Leeds are in 16th place in the English Premier League standings with 20 points.
