Gomora United striker Tiklas Thutlwa attracts transfer interest after scoring surge
Gomora United striker Tiklas Thutlwa has attracted interest from clubs in South Africa and the Middle East, according to his agent Lebohang Mashishi.
The 27-year-old is the leading scorer in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after finding the net eight times in his first seven matches of the campaign.
Thutlwa has scored four goals in his past two appearances, beginning with both goals in Gomora United’s 2-1 win against Upington City. He then struck twice again in a 3-2 defeat by Cape Town City.
Mashishi said discussions were under way with several clubs interested in signing the forward.
“There’s clubs that were talking locally and outside, particularly Middle East,” said Mashishi.
The reported interest comes after Thutlwa made a strong return from a serious injury that had interrupted his career.
He missed the entire 2024/25 season and the first half of the 2025/26 campaign after suffering the injury during a loan spell with Venda FC.
Thutlwa joined Gomora United in January this year after leaving Sekhukhune United. He quickly established himself at his new club, scoring eight goals in 10 appearances during the second half of the previous campaign.
His latest run of form has now made him one of the most sought-after attacking players in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, with clubs at home and in the Middle East monitoring his progress.
