Leeds United manager Daniel Farke insists the absence of Egypt star Mohammed Salah will not affect Liverpool in their Premier League clash.
The Reds will take on Leeds United on Thursday, January 1, 2026 in the week 19 of the Premier League campaign, with both teams seeking for maximum points.
Salah is currently with the Egyptian national team in Morocco for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The Pharaohs remains unbeaten at the tournament after three group stage games, with Salah leading the charge after registering two goals at the tournament.
Ahead of the clash, Daniel Farke stressed that the absence of the Egyptian star does not make the match easier for Leeds United.
“Facing Liverpool at this time would make any team fear the worst, especially after they returned to the title race and played seven games unbeaten.”
“Liverpool have returned to the top positions in the league table, and the quality of the team or its individual potential cannot be underestimated.”
“The absence of Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak does not make the match easier. When you look at the available attacking options, you will realize the extent of the danger.”
“Hugo Ekiteke is making a very strong start with Liverpool, and I know him well from the Bundesliga and he is in great form,” he stressed.
Liverpool are currently fourth in the English Premier League table with 32 points. Meanwhile, Leeds are in 16th place in the English Premier League standings with 20 points.
