Hamada El Sherbini, a member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Football Association, has declared his outfit readiness to face any opponent ahead of the Round 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Pharaohs finished on top pf Group B with seven points, one point ahead of second-placed South Africa, who defeated Zimbabwe 3-2 on Monday.
Before the final group game against Angola, Egypt had already secured a place in the round of 16 after back-to-back wins over Zimbabwe (2-1) and South Africa (1-0).
“We came out of the Angola match with several gains, such as the participation of new players and each player getting his chance. We are waiting for the end of the group matches to find out who our opponent is, but we don’t care who we will face and we are ready to face any team.” he told ON Sport 1.
“The most important thing that happened in the Angola match is the disappearance of all the players’ fear because you can use any of them throughout the tournament, and there are players who participated for the first time, but they are up to the task.”
“I am happy that the fans are once again rallying around the Egyptian national team. I haven’t felt this since 2010, and I hope it continues.”
Egypt, seven-time champions, are seeking to reclaim the continental title as they enter the decisive phase of the Africa Cup of Nations, buoyed by strong performances and growing belief within the camp.
